Weird is the word for this B-movie from maverick Canadian director Allan Moyle, best known as the maker of Pump Up the Volume with a young Christian Slater. Here, a pair of stoners (played by Scott Speedman and Wes Bentley) concoct a plan to clear their debt to a local drugs kingpin, but before they can enact the questionable scheme, they have to bury the body of a girlfriend (Taryn Manning) who has apparently overdosed on their stash, disturbing some preppy Satanists in the process. The ensuing mayhem also involves a midget security guard and a brain-damaged millionaire. Remember, weird is the key. This frenetic black comedy is the sort of experience that will either be rated a cult classic in 20 years time, or completely forgotten. In either case, its low-budget, slacker feel and scattershot approach make it best suited to viewing on DVD.
