A Michael Winner film starring Charles Bronson immediately conjures up an image of violence, and both men live up to expectations in this nasty movie. Bronson plays a former New York cop working in LA who is barely distinguishable from the killers he's trying to track down. As usual, he's notionally on the side of the good guys, but an unknowing audience could easily be fooled. The only thing this film has going for it is the rather bizarre plot, involving gangsters hiring combat-trained Vietnam veterans to settle a long-standing Mafia feud. Stomach-churning and predictable.
