"Every rose has its thorns."
- Director: Mitchell Lichtenstein
- Genre: Comedy, Horror
- Studio: Teeth
- Duration: 110 Mins
|
Overview:
In this comedy horror with bite, Jess Weixler plays a high-school student with a second set of teeth. Where? That is for her gynaecologist to know, and for her hapless lovers to find out if they get violent. Though the plot may sound like Z-grade horror, the feature-length debut of director Mitchell Lichtenstein (son of Pop Art pioneer Roy) is in fact a female-empowerment film of some subtlety and no small amount of charm. That is thanks largely to a bright and breezy performance by leading lady Weixler, who is certainly a talent to watch. The film's gorier moments may prove too much for some, but if you like your horror with a blackly comic edge, then you will be pleasantly surprised by how entertaining this is.
