A painter is sent by a Boston artistic society to the frontier, to document the landscapes and the Native people. He is distracted from his task by three very different women, but soon has more pressing concerns when he discovers a greedy landowner is planning to trick a Mohawk tribe and a party of settlers into waging war on each other.
