Blatantly ripping off the plot of the classic farce Christmas in Connecticut, this romantic comedy couldn't have a better pedigree. However, it's closer in tone to Arnold Schwarzenegger's mediocre 1992 remake than Peter Godfrey's 1945 original. Tori Spelling tries hard as the single careerist who has to reapply for her own job when her company changes hands and finds herself posing as a doting wife and mother to impress her new boss. Greg Germann (of Ally McBeal fame) mugs genially and there's an early glimpse of Little Miss Sunshine's Abigail Breslin as the "borrowed" daughter, but this is lacklustre fare.

Charlie MacKenzie is an ambitious young career woman who stretches the truth in a job interview by professing to be married with a family. But her little white lie leads to a great big problem when her new boss moves next door. Desperate to maintain her ruse, Charlie “borrows” her best friend’s daughter and scrambles to find a husband-for-hire. When a charming actor accepts the role, Charlie’s charade just may lead her to true love!
